Laboratory Billing Review & Cost Recovery – Prov DoH

Overview:
We conducted a deep data analysis / review of our client’s Lab billing records across multiple districts and Health Care Facilities. This included analysis of over 13.9 million lab tests, detection of duplicate charges, and misaligned claims.

Key Outcomes:

  • Over R60 million in possible recoverable billing errors identified

  • 358,000+ tests billed in the incorrect month

  • Case of one patient receiving 538 tests in a single month

PILIR & Incapacity Leave Compliance Assessment – ECDoH

Overview:
We reviewed incapacity leave data for a client and noted 1,100 employees eligible for early retirement due to ill health (PILIR). We assisting our client to implement the PILIR. The nett effect is that former staff are treated with dignity as they exit the system and new staff are employed leading to a more positive working environment.

Key Outcomes:

  • R79 million in cost exposure from extended leave usage

  • Absence of clinical re-evaluations or HRM oversight

Geo-Spatial Mapping of Bilharzia & Disease Burden

Overview:
We used advanced spatial analysis techniques (Moran’s I, Gi*, etc.) to map Bilharzia exposure risk across river catchment areas, schools, and water sources. Our methodology is scalable to 21 disease categories using HST and DHIS data.

Key Outcomes:

  • Identified disease clusters and “hot spots” across districts

  • Integrated population, school, and water data layers

  • Linked exposure to social determinants and SDGs
